Alex Shusis
With over 14 years of experience coaching tennis and 11 years as a head tennis professional, Alex Shusis brings unparalleled expertise and a passion for developing well-rounded players. Known for his commitment to foundational excellence, Alex believes, “There is no substitute for a good beginning.” His approach emphasizes technical precision, mental fortitude, and physical conditioning, ensuring players are equipped for success at every stage of their journey.

Ethan Matthews
Originally from Boise, Idaho, Ethan Matthew brings over eight years of dedicated coaching experience to the court. Throughout his career, Ethan has had the privilege of training under industry legends, including Tom Fey (Harmony Meadows), Greg Patton (Crane Creek Country Club), and Steve Smith (Greatbase Tennis).
As a Greatbase certified professional, Ethan utilizes a world-class technical foundation to develop players of all ages and skill levels. His background ensures that every student—from beginner to elite—receives the high-caliber instruction necessary to reach their full potential.

Hunter Bivins
Originally from Johns Creek, GA, Hunter transitioned from a successful junior career to competing at the collegiate level for Oglethorpe University. His coaching journey began at Windward Tennis Academy—the very place he trained as a junior—before refining his craft at LifeTime Peachtree Corners.
Hunter further elevated his expertise in Charleston, SC, at RISE Tennis Academy, where he coached under the renowned Craig Cignarelli and collaborated with industry innovator Jonathan Stokke. Today, Hunter brings a modern, multi-dimensional approach to the court. As an accomplished pickleball and padel player, he offers a unique, well-rounded perspective on racquet sports that helps athletes of all backgrounds excel.
Junior Assistant Coach
Tatum Carpenter
Tatum is currently one of the best junior players in the state of Georgia for her recruiting class. She ranks as high as 70 in the nation, top 10 in the Southern section, and 2 in Georgia. As a current 4 star, her goal is to play Division 1 tennis. Tatum is an invaluable part of the Technical Tennis coaching staff working with our red, orange, and green developmental classes. Tatum is Great Base Tennis Education certified (GBTE) and enjoys being a role model on and off the court for our young players.
Alex’s impressive credentials include certifications as a USPTA Elite Professional, USTA High Performance Coach, and USTA 10 & Under Certified Coach. He is also ITPA Tennis Fitness Certified and Great Base Certified, underscoring his dedication to holistic player development. His extensive experience includes roles as a USTA National, Southern, and Georgia Team and Camp Coach, as well as serving as the Head Coach for USTA Illinois Early Development Camps.
Alex’s leadership in the sport extends beyond coaching: he served as President of USPTA Illinois, and in 2014, he was recognized as the Chicago Tournament Director of the Year. Through his skilled coaching and commitment to excellence, Alex has become a trusted mentor to players of all ages, guiding them to reach their fullest potential on and off the court.
